We started things off way back in August with a double feature of Girl's Rock! and The Machine Girl. The turnout surprised even us -- over 300 of you fabulous folks showed up for a night of movies and music.
Our post-Halloween showing of David Cronenberg's The Brood was unfortunately plagued with some technical problems. Nonetheless, the show went on complete with local shorts by some fine Louisville filmmakers.
In November, we partnered with Slow Food Bluegrass for a special screening of the lyrical documentary The Meaning of Tea at the Green Building on Market Street. The showing was well-attended and was followed by a Q&A with the director and a tea tasting.
Despite the economic downturn, we are forging ahead with plans. Our projected opening date is late summer of '09. If you have supported us by purchasing memberships from our site or in person, don't worry! Your hard-earned money is safe and sound (and much appreciated). If you haven't gotten in on the ground floor with some great deals on tickets and merchandise, well, memberships always make great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Solstice presents!
Check back often for more news. It's our goal to post and update each weekday. We'll be announcing our new weekly film series shortly!
